Son of Daniela Even-Tzur and Guy Zak, and brother to Nurit, Lior, Nofar, and Maayan.
He was born on June 5, 1975 (26 Sivan 5735) in Hadera.
In his early years, the family lived in Arad, and when Yoav was five years old, they moved to Rishon LeZion, where he grew up and was educated.
In early April 1993, Yoav enlisted in the IDF and served as a transport driver at Camp Adam. On May 20, 1994 (10 Sivan 5754), Yoav fell while on duty. He was 19 years old.
Corporal Yoav was laid to rest at the military cemetery in Rishon LeZion. He is survived by his parents and four siblings. Three years after his death, his sister Lihi was born.
