The “Leading the Pack” Scholarship Fund, In support of Oketz Unit veterans

The Leading the Pack Foundation awards annual scholarships of ₪10,000 for academic studies during the 2024–2025 school year (תשפ”ה). The scholarships are intended for students pursuing a bachelor’s degree at institutions accredited by the Council for Higher Education in Israel (MALAG), whose annual tuition exceeds ₪10,000.

Recipients are required to complete 120 hours of volunteer service as part of the foundation’s activities or through other placements, as determined by the scholarship committee. A candidate’s ability to make a meaningful contribution to the foundation’s work—supporting fellow unit alumni and bereaved families—is a key consideration in the selection process. Attendance at the scholarship award ceremony, held near Rosh Hashanah in the presence of the bereaved families, is mandatory and a condition for receiving the scholarship.

In late November, a day of group bonding and reflection was held for the unit’s bereaved families. The day concluded with a scholarship ceremony honoring the memory of the unit’s fallen, and awarding support to its veterans.
