Alpha Program

The “Alpha” Program was developed for the alumni community – combat soldiers who were physically or emotionally wounded during their service. It also supports the unit’s bereaved families, who have suffered the loss of their loved ones, and provides tools and support to strengthen personal and communal resilience after military service.

Today, the “Alpha” Program supports dozens of wounded veterans and fifteen bereaved families, providing a comprehensive support and care network tailored to the emotional, psychological, and physical challenges that arise from the unique nature of service in the unit.

The program offers professional guidance, group resilience workshops to process combat experiences, experiential and community activities, and individual assistance during times of personal, emotional, or financial hardship.

The program operates along three main vectors:

  • Resilience

The resilience component is designed to provide tools for recovery, strengthening, and personal and collective empowerment—founded on empathy, mutual understanding, and the goal of helping combat veterans return to a strong and stable life path.

Through combat experience processing workshops, intensive reflection days, group meetings, tailored content for resilience-building, and webinars for veterans and their families, we offer emotional support and practical tools to navigate life after service.

his year, we established a direct and personal connection with NATAL (Israel Trauma and Resiliency Center) to expand clinical support for those in need. We also provide career guidance. All treatments and support services are delivered by certified professionals across the country.

  • Support for Wounded Veterans

An injury to a soldier affects not only the individual, but also their close family, who must adapt to a new and often complex reality.

Our volunteer team works to embrace, support, and offer a sense of home and belonging. The support network collaborates with a professional team from the fields of medicine, psychology, and law to assist with the diverse needs and challenges faced by injured veterans and their families.

  • Support for Bereaved Families

We accompany 14 dear bereaved families, standing by them throughout the year with a deep sense of duty and moral responsibility.

The foundation focuses on creating a supportive community where families are given space for expression, assistance, and care—strengthening the bond between the families, the foundation, and the Oketz Unit.

Why “Alpha”?
The name “Alpha”—taken from the term for the leader of a wolf pack—reflects more than just values of strength, resilience, and leadership. For us, it also represents compassion and empathy.

Just as the Alpha female unites her pack, leads them through a shared journey, and provides a sense of security and care, the Alpha Program strives to guide members of the Leading the Pack Foundation on their path to healing and empowerment.

The goal is to offer each injured veteran and their family a supportive, comprehensive framework—rooted in deep empathy, mutual listening, and compassion—to help them overcome challenges and move toward a stronger, more secure future.
