Son of Hadasa and Hanoch, and the middle child between two sisters. He was born in Kiryat Gat on 24 March 1984 (20 Adar II 5744).
On 7 August 2002, Nadav enlisted in the Oketz Unit. His comrades referred to him as “the life and soul” of the platoon.
On the evening of Hanukkah, 7 December 2004 (24 Kislev 5765), Nadav fell in battle in the northern Gaza Strip. This occurred during a complex operation carried out by the Golani reconnaissance unit, which entered the Sajaiya neighborhood in Gaza with the goal of uncovering a tunnel. A 200-kilogram explosive device, buried two meters underground, detonated—killing Nadav. Despite the massive force of the blast, Nadav’s body and that of his beloved dog Diablo were found lying close together, as if asleep.
Staff Sergeant Nadav was laid to rest at the Kiryat Gat Military Cemetery. He is survived by his parents and two sisters, Ravit and Hila.
