Son of Tikva and Shmuel, and the youngest brother of Malka, Irit, and Yael.
He was married to Moriah and father to Yoel-Shmuel, Amir-David, and Ya’ara.
Yair was born on December 13, 1977 (3rd of Tevet 5738) in Nahariya.
He served in the Oketz Unit, and after his discharge from the IDF, he continued to serve in the reserves in Battalion 8202. His reserve service spanned about fifteen years, during which he served as a squad commander, always answering the call to training and operational duty with a strong sense of mission.
On July 25, 2014 (27th of Tammuz 5774), during Operation Protective Edge, Yair was wounded in an exchange of fire.
Yair fell in battle at the age of 36 and a half.
He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Rehovot. He is survived by his wife, two sons, a daughter, his parents, and three sisters.
